Alfalfa Sprossen woher kommt der name? Alfalfa ist der amerikanische Name unserer Luzerne . Die Luzerne gehört zu den Hülsenfrüchtlern und ist eine alte Kulturpflanze. Schon vor Chr. Als Futterpflanze für Nutztiere angebaut, ist sie heute in der Sprossenzucht weit verbreitet. Sie ist sehr einfach zu ziehen und ist daher auch meistens als Anfängersamen bei diversen Produkten, wie z.B. Keimgeräten, dabei. Alfalfa Sprossen sind reich an sekundären Pflanzenstoffen wie z.B. Saponinen.

Alfalfa Sprossen – Gesundheitliche Wirkungen
Gesundheitliche
Wirkung wird Alfalfa vor allem wegen der reichlich vorhandenen Saponine
nachgesagt bzw. einige Studien geben Hinweise darauf.
Saponine haben entzündungshemmende, antibakterielle und antifungizide Eigenschaften und dienen der Pflanze somit als Selbstschutz. Saponinreiche Pflanzen Alfalfa Sprossen können bei der Behandlung von Blutungen und Ödemen helfen. In vielen natürlichen Medikamenten werden daher Saponine zugefügt. Auch bei Erkältungskrankheiten können Saponine helfen, indem sie dafür sorgen, dass Schleim sich schneller auflößt und abgehustet werden kann.
Saponine haben auch stimulierende Wirkung auf den Hormonhaushalt. In der Phytotherapie werden Pflanzen wie Alfalfa Sprossen daher auch bei Menstruations- und Wechseljahre Beschwerden eingesetzt. Enthaltene Phytoöstrogene in den Blättern scheinen diese Wirkungen zu unterstützen.
Besondere
Wirkungen scheinen Alfalfa Sprossen auch auf unseren Darm und das Immunsystem
zu haben. Saponine in Alfalfa unterstützen die Aufnahme anderer Inhaltsstoffe
aus dem Darm und binden gleichzeitig Cholesterin.
Man vermutet auch eine präventive Wirkung gegen Darmkrebs durch eine hemmende Wirkung auf die Zellteilung im Darm.
Besonders positiv scheinen sich Alfalfa Sprossen auch auf Autoimmunerkrankungen auszuwirken. Auch hier werden sekundäre Pflanzenstoffe wie Isoflavonoide und Saponine verantwortlich gemacht.

Keimung Alfalfa Sprossen
Alfalfa Samen sind recht anspruchslos was den Keimvorgang angeht. Über Nacht leicht mit Wasser bedecken und morgens auf ein feuchtes Flies im Sprossengarten und sie können nach 6 – 7 Tagen wunderbare grüne Sprossen ernten. Aber auch nach nur 2-3 Tagen kann man die Sprossen sehr gut verwenden.
Eventuell
1 – 2 mal am Tag kurz besprühen, besonders wenn die Samen am Fenster in der
Sonne stehen.

Sprossen eignen sich als Topping auf Salat, Sandwiches oder auch einfach zu
Obst.
